Embarassing day for Sweden

12 Aug 2018
Sweden were overwhelmed by Ramblin Jesters by 42 - 7 in the semi in Copenhagen, after a performance lacking in spirit, skill and determination. That the Jesters were no superstars was underlined by the fact that they lost the final 10 - 7 to Hundested Spurs, a Danish team with a fair amount of international talent.

Low level Copenhagen Sevens

12 Aug 2018
Copenhagen are still attracting plenty of teams but the standard is extremely low. More or less no British teams and less Swedish ones too. I didn´t think it was worth sending the Swedish team, but Ramblin Jesters a good English combined team entered late and this meant that Sweden would get at least one decent game.

Exiles too good for Enköping

11 Aug 2018
Enköping put up a reasonable display in the forwards but were no match for a sparkling Exiles back division which ran in most of their 54 points in the first half.

Återgång till seriespel

9 Aug 2018
Seriespelet är tillbaka, men ytterst få rugbyspelare är inblandade varje vecka.

Stockholm Tens Day 2

5 Aug 2018
A lot of question marks about the 26th version of the Tens with a new supremo, new location, new touch tournament and a limited interest from Swedish teams. Not everything functioned perfectly, but the important things did and I think most people including the 24 teams were pretty satisfied with two days of non-stop entertainment on three pitches. The weather? Glorious sunshine 90% of the time, two short periods of torrential rain in between.

Bra första dag för Tens

4 Aug 2018

Steve Wearing in memoriam

12 Jul 2018
The Mabon family would like to add its condolences now that news has come through of his too early death. (see main text below)

12 Jul 2018
It is with great sorrow that Stockholm Exiles announce the passing on 6 July in Spain of Steve Wearing. Steve joined the club in the 1980s after working and playing rugby in Paris. He also served as chairman 1988-1989.

Not the best of days for Sweden

8 Jul 2018
The short story is that Sweden Men will almost certainly be relegated to Trophy level again next season while the Swedish Ladies just missed out on promotion to next year´s Grand Prix. On the home front the Swedish 7s Championship in Helsingborg seems to have gone off well, despite the best 24 players missing. Exiles just held on to beat Vänersborg 19 – 15 in the Ladies´ tournament while Södertälje had a more comfortable win, 31 – 5, against Hammarby. Congratulations to both the winning clubs.

7s progressing

7 Jul 2018
Exiles Ladies doing well in Helsingborg. They started off with 24 – 0 against Helsingborg, moved on to 41 – 0 against Uppsala and rounded off a good days work by defeating Pingvin 37 – 12. They win Group A followed by Pingvin and will then meet Vänersborg and Malnö in the semis. Exiles – Malmö, Vänersborg – Pingvin. In the Men the semis are Södertälje – Wexiö and Goteborg – Hammarby.
