Stockholm Tens off to good start

5 Aug 2017
The 25th Anniversary of the Stockholm Tens showed some excellent performances on Day 1 as the teams tried to make their way to the quarter finals. In the Male Cup Tournament the holders the Water Boys, a select team from the Scottish first division, who are making a big name for themselves on the 7s and 10s circuit, easily got through undefeated to the Quarters while Exiles had to work harder to do the same in the other Pool. The pick of the other teams were the Beavers from England and the Lithuanians from Siaulei. These four could well make the Semis and Exiles will be hoping to meet the Waterboys in the final.

The Ladies have not got as far as the Quarters yet, but undefeated Exiles and Linköping are coming along nicely while the Mamas have also won both their games narrowly. Exiles probably favourites but it´s no foregone conclusion.
For the Men´s Bowl tournament seven Swedish teams faced up to the Scottish Bovril Boys. The Bovril Boys were a bit too strong for the Swedes and have yet to concede a point. On the other side of the draw, Erikslund are also undefeated so far and could well meet the English lads in the final. Well done the Exiles 3rd team, the Mighty Threes, who also managed to win two out of three Bowl games. Everything to be determined with the finals tomorrow, Sunday. Why not come down to Årsta and see some entertaining rugby from 9.30 to 17.00?
A final note on the two teams in the Old Boys minitournament . Well deserved win by Attila over Exiles by 38 – 12, especially since Exiles first team have not lost to Attila since 1983.
